Salisbury Elks Lodge #699
Youth Programs
Antlers Program
The Antlers program is a chance for young people in our communities to get involved with the Elks in the many service-related projects our Lodges sponsor. It is all for youth (members and non-members), both male and female, from the ages of 12 to not yet 21.
Meetings are held at the Lodge on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 2pm-3pm. The program consists of fun, fellowship, and community service. While being an enjoyable program for youths, it will also help to engage children to support their growth to become better adults. .
Membership in the organization is open to any individual (12-20), who is a citizen of the United States of America, of good character and who believes in the existence of God. We invite all teenagers to come to our meetings. Bring your parents on your first visit so both of you will understand our program. Please contact salisburyelksantlers@gmail.com for more information.
Hoop Shoot
The Elks “Hoop Shoot” Free Throw Contest is the largest most visible of the many youth activities sponsored by Elks lodges. The Elks National Free Throw Contest is open to all boys and girls, ages 8-13, regardless of race, color or creed, and is held in January, February and March 2015 with the national contest in April. Over 3,000,000 boys and girls ages 8-13 will participate this year.
The Elks “Hoop Shoot” has served to highlight the Elks commitment to America’s youth. From the millions of youngsters who participate and advance through the local, district, state and regional competition, six national champions are named – one boy and one girl in each of the three categories: ages 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13. The winners each receive a trophy and their names are inscribed on a plaque at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Parents accompany contestants throughout the competition. The parents of finalists at the state, regional, and national levels attend the competition as guests of the Elks.
Schools can add this as a part of their program to support drug awareness and keep kids connected to their future. The hoop shoot motto is "Yes to Hoop Shoot and No to Drugs!"

Children's Christmas Party
The annual Children's Christmas Party is an annual event in December given by the local Salisbury Elks Lodge to help those families that are struggling to make Christmas special for their kids, along with local children from the Nazareth Children's Home. Will donations and sponsors from local businesses, as well as a number of Elk volunteers, children are treated to games, toys and even a special visit from Santa.
This program is always looking for volunteers, so if you would like to help with this event, please contact the House Committee Chairman.
